A fun teaser video for the Sewing Machine Orchestra. I love the depth of sound he is able to get out. I really wasn’t expecting the percussive bass that he gets. Internet privacy: where are our priorities?
Something that came to mind while reading The Wall Street Journal’s article regarding a silent probe on Jacob Appelbaum (volunteer for Wikileaks): Why is it when Facebook “screws up” their privacy settings or Google opts you into a service you don’t want by default, we scream “Off with their heads!”? Meanwhile, the governement can make silent probe after...
Google is sharpening their Dart
So here we go, Google is putting description around their JavaScript replacement language. Dart is exciting to me however at the same time I am questioning the viability of learning the language until is see adoption rates of browsers other then chrome. PC's and their blank screens
Very valid & interesting observation on usability post about pc manufactures’ handicap when advertising their products. Also something they really need to fix if they want to spark user interest. Posted via email from jesse vanderpol | Comment »

Tyler Tate's Semantic Grid System
I just finished reading Tyler’s Smashing Magazine article. You can bet I will be building off his LESS based grid system in the future. Well worth a read if you are looking for a flexible base to start your HTML/CSS structure. Posted via email from jesse vanderpol | Comment »
CSS should just say no to IDs
Great article that lays out a convincing argument to forgo the use of IDs in your CSS. The explanation of the performance myth is splendid. Best part is the specificity problem focus. I know I have found myself in that boat many times. All and all, it is great advice. http://oli.jp/2011/ids/ Posted via email from jesse vanderpol | Comment »

Fun at the Zoo
See the full gallery on Posterous We picked up our zoo memberships on Sunday and decide to spend the beautiful weather with a leisurely, afternoon stroll through. We had a wonderful time and in the end argued whether the red pandas or the special water exhibit was the best. I voted water, due to meticulous setup of the aquariums to replicate the natural environment of the creatures....

Excellent statements about how we tend to look at other parts of the world (specifically the middle east) and why we shouldn’t: A Guide: How Not To Say Stupid Stuff About Egypt I suggest anyone take a look even if you don’t feel you are guilty of any of the specific points. internet in a jar...
him: I hope you know a good near-lawyer.
me: I know a couple, I even know a few good complete lawyers... related and soon to be related to them.
him: Man, you're set.
me: Hahahaha or in trouble depends on how you look at it. I can tell you that kitchen table talk is ruined for the rest of time.
him: LOL Pro tip: If you and the mrs. should ever get divorced (knock on wood), don't ask her to represent you.
me: That is pro-tip that most people don't think about, thanks for that
him: Because she will get everything, up to and including that jar on top of the fridge containing your testicles.
me: Yeah luckily I keep all my important things in a jar in the backyard. Which makes getting to the porn a pain in the ass.
Wow... I think I just inadvertently said I keep the internet in a jar buried in the back yard
him: That is a strange visual.
